Collard Lizard

Here are two pictures of a Collard Lizard I took a few weeks ago while doing field work. He was very calm and happily sunning himself on a rock, and was not to concerned with me. I took quite a few close up pictures. These were two of the better ones so I thought I would share them (due to lack of anything else to post at this time).

Awww... he's a cute li'l dickins, isn't he? Every time I see a lizard, it high-tails to the nearest crevice. I have a hard time getting pictures of animals other than our banana slugs.

I saw 7 of these guys today on a hike. They were just beautiful. Unfortunately all of the ones I saw today were skittish around the 50 2nd graders I was leading the hike for so I did not get any pictures.
